Candlelit Romance at the John Marshall Ballrooms
S&G had the most romantic day this past December, filled with candlelight, fluffy blush and ivory blooms, and a blossom-inspired arch.
Both the ceremony and reception took place in the Marshall Ballroom at the Historic John Marshall Ballrooms in Richmond, Virginia. The day was photographed by the talented Kylie Martin Photography and coordinated by the incredible Jenn Fries at Ashley Rose Weddings & Events.
S had envisioned a day filled with soft blush, ivory, and sage tones and hints of black accents. Her bouquet was fluffy, textural, and filled with peonies, roses, anemones, ranunculus, privet, and eucalyptus.
Plus, she wanted the focal point of the ceremony to be a super fun, blossom-inspired freestanding arbor. To bring her vision to life, we used a variety of white and blush delphinium and larkspur in our freestanding arbor, which was later repurposed in front of the dance floor for the reception. We also filled the ballroom with a variety of floral compotes, candles and greenery, and rectangular mirrored glass lanterns that were later repurposed from the ceremony to become guest table centerpieces.
For the head table, we used blush and eucalyptus topiaries, a greenery runner, bud vases, and a variety of candles to create the romantic ambiance S wanted to achieve.
This was such a magical and romantic day, and we wish S&G all the best!
